成人抖阴Student Designs Final Downtown Salisbury Sculpture
SALISBURY, MD---Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine, looks down upon visitors to Peninsula Regional Hospital following the recent unveiling of the final public artwork overseen by the Downtown Salisbury Sculpture Committee.
Salisbury University art student Lawrence “Trip” Ulvila designed the PRMC-sponsored sculpture of Asclepius, erected on East Carroll Street near the entrance to Peninsula Regional’s Guerrieri Heart and Vascular Institute. Matech Industries, R.D. Grier and Sons and Wicomico County Public Schools students constructed and installed the artwork.
Asclepius is the 10th artwork in the series, which began over a decade ago as a partnership between these organizations and the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA). The project initially was overseen by the now-defunct Urban Salisbury and was continued by the Salisbury Arts and Entertainment District Committee.
The first four 16-foot sculptures were dedicated in 2003, and others followed on East Carroll Street and South Salisbury Boulevard. Made from cor-ten steel, all 10 reflect Eastern Shore themes and were designed by 成人抖阴students. In 2005, the SHA recognized the project with its prestigious Award of Excellence.
