SALISBURY, MD---Priscilla Timken is making a simple request to the Salisbury community: “Stash Your Trash.”

The Salisbury City Council recently gave its approval to Timken’s “Stash Your Trash” program, encouraging area residents not to litter. By her side during the presentation to the council was a logo designed by Salisbury University freshman Jayne Clark of Crofton, MD.

The logo, depicting a heron and crab on a trash can, has become the official graphic representation of the movement, reproduced on trash bags recently distributed to community members at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce’s 32nd annual Salisbury Festival.

Timken encouraged festival-goers to sign a quilt, pledging not to throw their trash on the ground. She worked with local elementary school students to create the quilt, which also included a square created by 成人抖阴freshman Shweta Reddy of Annapolis and Haley Goeller of Scotch Plains, NJ, to represent SU’s Green Floor Living Learning Community

Dr. Maarten Pereboom, dean of SU’s Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts, was among members of the University community signing the quilt, vowing to help make Salisbury a cleaner city. Timken and her volunteers received over 500 signatures overall.
