SU's McDermott is Guest at Chinese Embassy
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. E. Patrick McDermott of Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business was recently a guest at a Chinese embassy reception hosted by Dr. You Shaoxhong, the Chinese minister counselor for education affairs of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.
The reception was in honor of the 60th anniversary of U.S. scholars studying in China. Guests included fellow China Fulbright scholars, academics, others who studied in China, U.S. State Department officials in charge of U.S. education programs in China and the Far East, Fulbright Program executives and Chinese Ministry of Education officials.
Ira Kasoff, deputy assistant secretary for Asia, U.S. International Trade Administration, entertained the group with his discussion of his experience as a graduate student in Beijing in 1979, soon after China and the U.S. normalized relations.
