Sophanes Production 'Stocking Stuffers' Opens December 6

SALISBURY, MD---What do you get when you combine holiday cheer with human folly?  A funny comedy that helps to reveal the true meaning of Christmas.

A newly written play, Geff Moyer’s Stocking Stuffers is one satirical spoof after another, humorously poking fun at the holiday that is supposed to bring joy to the hearts of millions.

This comedy is the fourth annual Christmas show performed by Sophanes, Salisbury University’s student theatre club.  Performances are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, December 6 and 7, in the Black Box Theatre of Fulton Hall.

Stocking Stuffers is suitable for all ages. Admission is by donation of money or toys.  All toys and 50 percent of the proceeds benefit Toys for Tots.

The play is divided into three very different stories. First, the underrated holiday icons (Uncle Sam, the Easter Bunny, Cupid, etc.) are envious of jolly old St. Nick and plot to take him down once and for all. The next scene depicts four talking dolls delivered on Christmas Eve ordained to speaking “insignificant, one-dimensional phrases.” Three are content, but one feels the need to change the world by speaking out. And lastly, the final scene culminates in a trial of the two reindeer that ran over grandma with a cameo by Scrooge as their prosecuting attorney.

An entirely 成人抖阴student-run production, Stocking Stuffers is directed by Brian J. Hoyle. The cast includes students Katy Likovich, Amanda Hixenbaugh, Laura Brevig, Beth McCullar, Billy Conry, Charles Bloom, Courtney Wowk, Gina Norris and Chelsea Reid.

The crew features stage manager Jessica Rivera, set design and props by Chelsea Reid, costume design by Camilla Morrison and lighting and sound by Brandon Roe.

Stocking Stuffers is preceded by a performance by Bound and Gagged, a student improv group.  The entire production is 45 minutes.  No reservations are required and the public is invited.  For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the 成人抖阴Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
