Traffic Advisory Issued for SBY Marathon Apr. 28
SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Police Department has issued a traffic advisory surrounding campus in connection with the inaugural SBY Marathon on Saturday, April 28.
Impacted roads include South Division, Power, Wayne and Bateman streets, as well as Dogwood and Wesley drives. The marathon route also includes a section of campus, taking runners through the Route 13 underpass, and between Maggs Physical Activities Center and Devilbiss Hall. A water and first aid station will be located in Guerrieri Student Union parking lot (Lot D). A full route description is available at www.sbymarathon.com.
Parking restrictions will be enacted on these roads from 9 a.m. Friday, April 27, until noon Saturday. Students, faculty and staff parked in these areas are asked to move their vehicles to SU’s Wayne Street Garage. Parking spaces on the north side of Power Street and the west side of Wayne Street will be blocked off beginning 9 p.m. Friday.
The marathon begins at City Park at 8 a.m. Runners are expected to be in the campus area between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. Pedestrians using the underpass are encouraged to use extra caution during that time. Bicycles and skateboards will be prohibited from using the underpass Saturday morning.
Spectators attending athletics events on campus that day are asked to park in the Wayne Street Garage. Coaches and student-athletes should park in the garage or in the Avery Street parking lot.
